Char Konietzko

Char is Eva Sophia Project Secretary and Mom to Joe. Her passion is to help all children work to reach their goals - and even surpass them! This was no different for her son, Joe, who was born early and required some special care throughout his life. Char is excited to be on the Eva Sophia Board because she has a strong desire to help all young adults reach their full potential and be active members of their community. 

Special Olympics is one of the organizations that helped Joe thrive, and Char got her start in volunteering there. She is a coach for Wild West Volleyball Special Olympics Minnesota, and also serves on that board.  

Char has a Bachelor of Science degree in education and a masters in reading. She was a reading interventionist, taught first grade for 24 years, and is currently teaching third grade. Char carries over many teaching skills into her board position.
